To change or not to change
I currently am running a Precision T3500 workstation. It is about 9 years old. I guess like everyone I am being forced to migrate from an efficient and workable Windows 7 platform to Windows 10.
Primary use is for running Photoshop CS6, Lightroom 6 ans a couple of genealogy programs. I do not want to go to "the Cloud" or to Adobe's "subscription hijacking.
The workstation is configured as follows: 2 SATA 320 GB hard drives configured as Raid 1. 12 GB Ram, Dual core processor W3503 2.40 Ghz, 4M,L2, graphics card has been upgraded to a NIVDA Quadro NVS295.
I hesitate to say that the Workstation is running just fine. Can I just upgrade the OS to Windows 10?
My question is the XPS comparable for what I want to do and what I will use it for. Is the Workstation overkill?
Thanks

I currently have an T3500 24g ram - X5670 - windows 10 home/Kubuntu 18.04 - gtx 1050 ti - soundblaster z audio no problems. A T3500 12 gig ram - windows 10 home - X5680 - gtx750 ti - photoshop 5.5 - also use libreoffice to process PDFs - soundblaster xf - the 5.1 surround sound is amazing - no problems. A T3500 X32xx something or the other with windows 7 - 4g ram - runs usb camera. As i am able to I plan to replace windows 10 with ubuntu / kubuntu. Also the T3500 X5670 runs mist survival (in kubuntu too) - Scum - Dayz - Generation Zero - and Miscreated video games with no problems very enjoyable gaming.
