With Modern Standby and even with these settings off/changed, the system might be getting stuck on an update/Windows activity and not allowing the system to sleep etc.. so turning the system off/using hibernate might be the only options that will work.

With that said, I know this is not ideal in all situations, but with the way standby works now in Windows 10/11, this is typically the only way to conserve battery efficiently/prevent system use.

Here is a guide at this link on how to re-enable hibernate if it is missing as an option. I hope this helps.

I should update this topic. After tested multiple options in the past one month, I noticed that, the backend activities will completely stop ONLY when I click Start/Power/Sleep first then close the lid, but NOT by only closing the lid even it's set to sleep.

Some facts:

If I closed the lid only, the laptop started to generate noises and heat, shut down itself in 10 hours, fully charged battery went down to 0.

If I clicked Start/Power/Sleep, and then closed the lid (or left the lid opened), I didn't feel any noises or heat after that, battery had 5% left after 2 days, although it's nothing compared to my MacBook (which usually lasts about one week by closing the lid), but it is OK for my case as this Dell laptop is for work I don't use it during the weekends.

I had the same experience. Drove me to leave the Windows and Dell camp.

I could not longer stand this embarrassing dilettantism of not having sleep/hibernate/whatever it is called/modern standby under control when I close the lid of my laptop and want to use it again after 45 minutes or 3 hours without reboot and without a 0% battery.
