Precision 7720 won’t turn on

Hi all.  I have an older precision 7720, recently the touchpad stopped working, so I had to order a new palm rest.  After installing the new part, my laptop won’t turn on, and has no battery light indicator when plugged in. I took the whole thing apart again, but everything looks normal. Any ideas on what could be causing this ?
