Precision 7740 - how switch to legacy?

Hello,

I want to start acronis from CD but cannot find the option to exit uefi.

What i did: Enter Bios, unchecked secure boot, restart and enter bios again, but

no difference in boot options. Only UEFI-Boot possible.

How can i change to Legacy?

Thx

Welcome to the Dell Community  @coastroller

Power-on and start tapping the "f12" key.

Does it give you the option to boot from the CD/DVD???

Best regards,

Hi,

i can use F12, but it shows only UEFI.

So i cannot see the (in this case) Legacy Boot-CD.

I want to be able to Legacy boot for different reasons

How can i switch to Legacy? That is the question

Hi @coastroller ,

When referring to Dell Precision 7740 Setup and specifications guide - General options, there should be options within Boot Sequence to enable legacy boot.

Hi all,

When referring to Newer Dell systems unable to boot to internal boot device in Legacy boot mode :

Latitude 7490 bios.jfif

"Legacy boot mode does not support OS boot on internal storage devices such as HDD, SSD, NVMe or eMMC. It is intended for use with external storage devices only, such as SD Card, USB and Network PXE"

In case you try to boot into BIOS without any mentioned external device being connected, you will find Boot List Option all empty like this:
