Precision 7760 weird behaviour on dock since latest update

Hi,

My Precision 7760 went through a Dell Command Update and Windows update the other week, and has since started to display some weird behaviour.

The laptop is connected to twin monitors through the WD19DCS dock, and I usually power it up with the lid closed.  Plug in the twin plug, wait for the both lights to go on, press the power button on the dock and it fires right up with no problems.

After the update, basically if the laptop is docked with the lid closed, and the docking station power button is pressed the laptop appears to be on but no image is displayed on the monitors to allow the user to log in. If I open the lid, the power button is lit up and if I press it the laptop instantly shuts down.

If the laptop is docked with the lid open and started, it works however the user has to login via the laptop screen before closing the lid and continuing with the monitors.

Sometimes when I shut down the laptop, the laptop will restart and go through the behaviour described above.

I have disabled fast boot and changed the boot behaviour via the bios to thorough, no changes in behaviour.  There are no wake up setting enable either in the bios.

Anybody else had issues like this?

Bios version is 1.16.0, dock firmware version is 01.00.25.01 and Windows build is 10.022621.

Thanks!

Thanks!

As a workaround, I went into the BIOS and switched from Discrete to Hybrid graphics. For some reason the laptop now boots when docked with the lid closed. This might be a BIOS issue or a video card driver issue, however I updated to the latest NVIDIA drivers yesterday prior to changing the graphics mode with no change in behavior.

We also, have multiple computers displaying this same issue with the same fix.

I am thinking that it must be bios update related, however, dell does not know anything about why this is occurring.
