I am also considering upgrading the lcd screen from WXGA+(1440x900) to FHD+(1920x1200), so as long as I have the correct connector size there should be no problem doing this, correct?
There could still be compatibility issues. The system needs to recognize the EDID of the panel you install -- or you won't see anything on screen until the operating system begins to load (and there is also the possibility of a corrupt or blank display as well).
Choose a panel known to have shipped with this model line.

@m_fry No issues as long as it's the same connector.
