After installing all the drivers i tried to upgrade the AMD drivers from AMDs site, choosing the latest drivers for my card! Every driver that i tried to install after the 15.301.2601.1004, just freezes the system and the only way to restore is via restore points of windows! The odd thing is that on my previous windows installation i was able to install the drivers but the card ws recognized as RADEON HD 8790M but at least i had the latest drivers!
and Why doesn't dell provide a newer version of the AMD firepro W4170m chip on thier website to work on m2800
After recently attempting to upgrade to the latest Windows 10 May 2020 Release, when the AMD driver installs the computer freezes. After much trial and effort, the issue is not the AMD video card driver; it is a BIOS setting and order that the graphic driver(s), Intel HD Graphics 4600 & AMD Fire Pro W4170M (FireGL V), are installed.
If you are reinstalling Windows 10, you will need the following:
Intel-HD-Graphics-4000-5000-500-P500 series driver
Intel-PCIe-Ethernet Controller-Driver
Network_Driver_MHJ5d
M2800-Video Driver
Change the BIOS setting: Under SATA Operations change the setting from RAID to AHCI (if your BIOS was set to RAID, you will need to reinstall Windows 10).
Update the BIOS to the latest release (if the latest BIOS is on the flash drive, connect the flash drive to the system | start the system | Press F12 at the Dell splash screen | Select BIOS Flash Update.
Install Windows 10 - I install a offline account first, without connecting to the Internet (this is the most important step to prevent Windows from automatically installing the AMD driver.) You can turn off the wireless switch or disconnect the Ethernet cable.
Connect the flash driver and install the Intel HD Graphics 4600 (this must be installed before the AMD Fire Pro W4170M (FireGL V) | Reboot if prompted.
Install the other drivers in the following order: Intel-PCIe-Ethernet Controller-Driver | Network_Driver_MHJ5d | M2800-Video Driver. Reboot if prompted and install the next listed driver.
After all of the drivers are installed, turn on the wireless switch or connect the Ethernet. Activate your Windows 10 license. Install any additional software updates.
Thus far, I have tested this process on at least 5 x M2800 systems in the last 2 days with several more to configure. Hope this works for you

M2800 models are over 10 years old. They do not even make them anymore.
Not sure what you are getting at.

Duplicate of https://www.dell.com/community/Precision-Mobile-Workstations/No-decent-GPU-driver-available-for-M2800/m-p/6078511
We have found the solution thanks to Johnnyjo ^
Dell did not provide any useful assistance in any of this.
