922 AIO Printer Not Appearing in Vista

When I installed my 922 printer on my new laptop with Vista, the printing function worked but not the scan function. I used the procedure suggested by Rick (PudgyOne) under the '940 AIO not appearing in Vista" thread and everything worked perfectly, except the AIO Center icon does not appear on my desktop nor on any toolbar, and so I don't know how to open the AIO Center in the future. For now I am leaving it open, but obviously it will be gone the next time I shut down. What should I do?

Disconnect your printer. Download and run this patch (a MUST with Vista machines) to completely remove the printer from your computer.

Restart your computer.

Download the proper drivers

XP Drivers

Vista 32-bit Drivers

All other drivers

Install the proper drivers. You'll be prompted when to connect your printer.

Scanning

Scanning using USB connection, open the Dell All-In-One Center, click on scanning and copying and scan from there.

Scanning wirelessly, use the scan buttons on the printer.

Rick,

That was not helpful - I had already done that, as I said.

Fortunately, instead I went to Start, then All Programs, where I found Dell Printers, double click gave me the AIO Center, right clicked it, clicked send to desktop. Voila, the AIO icon is on my desktop and it produces the AIO Center window.

Should have done that yesterday.

Thanks anyway.
