Techfan15,

First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs from the queue.

Disconnect the printer.

Download and run the patch(printer cleanup utility) until it prompts you to restart your computer.

Restart your computer.

Insert the printer disk or install the drivers from the mink below. You'll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on)

Links to the patch/drivers can be found at...

When I right click on the setup.exe file, left click properties, left click compatibility, it is grey and it does not let me change the compatibility to Vista SP2, it just is in Windows Vista.

Techfan15,

On the Windows 7 machine...

Hit the Windows Key and the R keys at the same time. Type

systeminfo.txt

REMOVE THE PRODUCT ID and post the rest of the information back here

In W7, when I hit the Windows Key and the R keys at the same time and type systeminfo.txt, I only get this: WINDOWS CANNOT FIND SYSTEMINFO.TXT. MAKE SURE YOU TYPED THE NAME CORRECTLY, AND THEN TRY AGAIN.

Techfan15,

Your system does not like commands.

Download THIS TOOL and save it to your desktop.

Right click on it, then left click extract here.

Go in the folder, right click on it, then left click, run as administrator.

Copy the information back here.

Techfan15,

Windows 7 machine...

Make and model of the computer and operating system. 32-bit or 64-bit?

Did this system come with Windows 7 or did you install or recently reinstall the operating system?

Is the operating system installed in English or another language?

How is the printer connected to this conputer? USB Cable or are you trying to host the printer on another computer and print from the Windows 7 machine?

Techfan15,

Sorry for the delay, work.

Make a system restore point. That way you can come back to what you have.

Run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs from the queue.

Disconnect the printer from this computer.

Download and run the patch(printer cleanup utility) until you get a prompt to restart your computer.

Restart your computer. Make sure the printer was removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal

Download the Vista 64-bit drivers.

Then...

Go to device manager, start, control panel, device manager

Go to the USB Controller section and click the + sign.

Starting at the bottom, USB Root Hubs, and working your way to the top, USB Universal Controllers, un-install everything in that section.

Restart your computer. Windows will find everything again and correct the problem one. Please be patient. The new hardware wizard may work 3-5 minutes before it's done.

Install the Vista 64-bit drivers in the Vista (I'd try Vista SP2) Compatibility mode You'll get a message, the printer is not connected. Connect the printer at this time(powered on)
