Del 2330dn Printer - plug in, quick Amber light then off

Hey all after 4 good years of service, i think our Dell 2330dn printer may have died. when plugged in, there is a quick amber light that flashes by the LCD right side and then goes off, and nothing occurs after that. The manual just states operator intervention required, but nothing else is stated. Any thoughts of what this could be?
