Dell 1600N printer on Windows 8 64bit over LAN

Hello to you all,

First off all i want to say that i find it not ok that Dell doesn't support the Dell 1600N MFP in Windows 8.

They force you to trow away your old printer and toners and buy a newer ones!!!!!

But today i found out that i couldnt print with the windows 7 64 bit driver on windows 8 64 bit.

With this driver installed i can scan from printer to windows 8 over LAN.

If you want to print, go to printers, add printer, not in the list, add a lokal or network printer, then i got the ip adress of the printer BUT maybe you need to fill that in.

select dell printer> choose dell 1135n laser MFP!!!!!!!!!!

Now print a testpage>by me it works!

Hope to help you with this.

Greetings from Barry

It works fine for me on Windows 8. Just use the Advanced Windows 8 Add Printer Wizard. Then choose TCP/IP plug in the IP and click have disk for the drivers and point it to the Dell 1600N PCL Driver Folder for Win7. Done.

If you click on configurationpanel>devices>on the top rightclick on your computer in devices>add old deivices>printer>dell>update and the dell 1600n will appear.

get you 1600n ipinfo (printing the networkinfo) and fill out

now you can print within windows 8!!!!!!!!
