Dell V515w Printer Communication Failure New router

Jerry, and others/ I have a similar problem .. Dell V515w.. the wireless wonder has worked very well, BUT, my wireless router/modem died.. changed out a 2wire unit for an AT&T Netgear 7550.  Now my wireless printer does not communicate with the computer, a  gateway laptop. Any ideas for this one? only changed out the wireless router/modem, no other changes.

herringrd,

When you setup the New router, did you create a new SSID? I would use these Recommended Wireless Router Settings I use channel 11. I would make a new SSID to make connecting easier.

After the router is setup, then we'll work on the printer.

On the computer...

First run Delete Print Jobs to remove any stuck print jobs from the queue.

Make sure the printer is not usb cable connected.

Start, control panel, programs and features, Dell V515w Printer, uninstall.

Restart the computer. Make sure the printer is removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal

With the computer online, insert the printer disk and install the printer, choose new installation, network and follow the instructions. If should prompt you to find your network and ask for the password, then follow the instructions.

Remember virus programs and firewalls will block communications.
