Enabling Fax Service on Desktop

I have a Dell Inspiron 660 and when I use the HP Officejet Pro 8600(network): Printer Assistant software to send a fax  After the fax is connected on the receiving end/side, I then get an error message "Failed- Printer not found."  I can send from the all-in-one with no problem but when using the HP software I get an error. I have contacted HP and they sent hours trying to resolved the issue and narrowed it down to missing files in PC operating files that is not enabling the fax service to operate.

ljfrunner,

Try reinstalling the printer using the instructions below...

First run Delete Print Jobs to remove stuck print job(s) from the queue, then restart your computer.

Make sure the printer is not usb cable connected.

Start, control panel, programs and features, your printer, uninstall.

Restart your computer. Make sure the printer was removed. Manual Printer Driver Removal

If you have the printer disk, with the computer online, insert the printer disk, choose network, additional computer, then follow the instructions. Your desktop should find the wireless printer. If you don't have the printer disk, try downloading the proper drivers from HP's website

Remember virus programs and firewalls will block communications.
