0x800ccc0f error outlook 2019 - works wired, error wireless

I had a recent experience with my new dell laptop that I wanted to share to save others the pain. I installed Office 2019 and on my wired connection my emails were connecting and up/downloading without a problem. Then I moved rooms and connected to wireless. Emails stopped flowing and I received the error "0x800ccc0f". Emails worked fine on my phone on wireless and the wireless was assigned to the same firewall profile as my wired adapter.

I pulled my hair out for a while before I remembered all the additional software Dell had loaded on my system. I disabled everything that wasn't Microsoft and long story short ... it was Rivet SmartBytes stopping my email. Re-starting only that service stopped my email again. I have now uninstalled it but wonder why Dell install it if it causes these kinds of issues.

I hope this saves someone else some time as all other sites I found on this error said check your firewall. I didnt think SmartBytes was firewall software so it took me a bit to get there.

Thanks kk_1 and Dilbertdad for posting your problem and solution.  After reading your posts I uninstalled Smartbytes on the off chance it may also cure an Outlook 365 problem on our Dell laptop and bingo! .... we're up and running again!  This Smartbytes seems like some real toxic bloatware they've decided to install.

Briefly - my problem was that Outlook 365 suddenly started corrupting files attached to emails that we were sending to our customers.  PDF's, Word or Excel files were all slightly changed at some stage during the email sending process such that they were corrupted when received at the other end.  I have invested hours and hours over the last 2 weeks into trying various other solutions from the web and in communicating with the email provider, all to no avail.  With Smartbytes uninstalled we can attach and send files again with no corruption issues.

Actually, the latest version of smartbyte did NOT fix the problem I have a brand new Dell laptop.  A brand new Windows 10 load and a brand new Office 2019 load. NO OTHER SOFTWARE has been installed. Not even Antivirus. Email is my livelihood so that was priority #1.  I couldn't send emails so I hit the interwebz and stumbled across this post. After reading your response about the latest version resolving the issue I ran the dell update. It update the bios, chipset and smartbyte software all to the latest version.  Still couldn't send. I opened smartbyte and disabled Network prioritization and POOF!! I could send email.

So no, the latest version still has an issue.

Did you also update your Intel Wi-Fi driver? We have found that the Outlook issue seemed to be due to some outdated versions of the Intel Wi-Fi driver when mixed with SmartByte. With the driver updated to the current version available from Dell, that issue should be resolved.

This was an amazing change to me. I spent as well over 10 hours trying to figure out this issue. Now that I took off Smart Byte off my computer, all my emails from outlook are working again!

THANK YOU!  I have been struggling with this same problem since January.  I, too, had purchased this Dell in August 2018, encountered Outlook sending issues in January 2019, and installed Thunderbird as a temporary work around.

I just updated the Intel Wi-Fi driver and everything seems to be sending accurately with no errors or strange changes to attached documents.  If I have any other issues, SmartByte will be promptly removed (or at least disabled.)

4+ months of frustration and 8 hours lost today. If only I had found this thread sooner...

Thank you so much for troubleshooting and solving what Dell and other SW vendors shouldn't have caused, first of all.

Wasted many hours trying to figure out why Outlook suddenly stopped sending emails until hitting this forum. Uninstalling the SmartByte piece of "software" brought an instant remedy.

Once more - THANK YOU.

Thank you so much! I had Dell support for two weeks working on my new laptop, Bitdefender for several days as well as Microsoft trying to solve the email erorr issue. Now SmartByte is GONE forever and I am grateful for your post.

This has just helped me resolve a similar issue on an Inspiron 7380. Strange issues logging on to Office 365, including this: "There was an issue looking up your account. Tap Next to try again." Nothing made sense. After uninstalling that Smartbyte Software, all is good.
