Office Starter 2010

Why is my office starter asking for a product key?  It should not need one.  Anyone else have this problem? Fixes?

Thanks for any input

Hi Frustrated1099,

When you launch the program for the first time, you will see a box as mentioned below.

  • You will have to select the option “Use” to use the starter version. It will not ask you for any product key.
  • Second option “Purchase” is to go online and purchase a product key.
  • Only if clicked on “Activate” it will ask you enter a product key. Use this option if you have purchased a product key.

Please feel free to reply in case you need any further assistance on the same.

Thanks & Regards

Microsoft Office trial period.

I am getting a similar message.  My message says that my trial period is over and need to upgrade.  I press OK and it asks for a product key.  I accidently enter my daughter's product key and the whole program goes down.  I then restore to an earlier date and I can open Word but can't type anything on the document.

Why would I have only a trial period when I purchased MS Office for $79.00 back on 11/26/2010?  And now I can't use what I paid for.

Please advise.

If you purchased Office Pre installed then you have an Office Key.

You can download the install for Microsoft Office 2007 or 2010 directly from Microsoft and use your Key.

If you did not get a key then you had office Trial version.

Try Office 2010
