R710 perc6i issue with drives larger than 2TB

Hello,

Could you please advise me what to do here?

I have purchased 4x4TB NLSAS hard drives and attached them to my Server PowerEdge R710.

Now all the drives are connected but they all failed in RAID controller (PERC6i).

Please advise me if there is a fix for this issue. Is there a firmware upgrade I can do on my PERC software so it can reads the drives I purchased? if not can you please advise which PERC cards I can get to work with my R710 and reads the SAS 4TB hard drives?

Sameh

Hi,

The PERC6/I does not support drives over 2TB. You have to use an H700.

Hi Josh,

H700 or H710? Will they work fine with the NLSAS 4TB hard drives?

I have read somewhere that H700 has an issue with hard drives larger than 2TB, is that right?

Please clear this confusion for me.

Hi Josh,

Can I please ask what will be the cable that connects this card H700 to the backplane of the Server R710?

What is the part number for this cable?

Sameh
