eventID

I have a variety of Clariion, DMX, VMAX, and Cisco switches I'm trying to find eventID's for so I can pass on to my client which to report on and at what severity.

Where/how can I identify eventID's to pass to the MIB files?

Hi Ryan,

Do any of the following documents provide you with the information you require:

https://community.emc.com/docs/DOC-38694 - ViPR SRM 3.5 SP1/SP2 Alerts Consolidation Mapping Worksheet

http://www.emc.com/collateral/hardware/white-papers/h1902-utilizing-snmp-cap-emc-disk-lib-wp-ldv.pdf - Utilizing SNMP Capabilities of EMC Disk Library- A Detailed Review

http://www.emc.com/microsites/fibrealliance/mib/mib1_5.txt - latest MIB definition

Thanks,

Hi Ryan,

Can you please clarify exactly what information you are looking for?

If you are interested in the MIB information, please see KB articles here:

https://support.emc.com/kb/45264 - Where can I find the Management Information Base (MIB) file for my CLARiiON or VNX storage system?

https://support.emc.com/kb/83226 - Cannot find MIB for VNX Block for SNMP trap.

https://support.emc.com/kb/5755 - How can I enable my CLARiiON array to respond to SNMP inquiries without Navisphere Event Monitor?.

KB article 5755 above has the link to the MIB file.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Thanks.

Kind Regards,

Paul O'Rourke

I have all the MIB's.

Within the trap types there are variables passed to it from the device one of which is the eventID.

Example:

VMAX solutions enabler sends snmp traps to the smarts server which includes a set of variables. I'm looking for the variable 'eventID' so I can generate smarts tickets specifically for hardware alerts.

I've been looking in support.emc.com and can't find any list or mention of a list for these variables.
