8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer write capability???

Question

i know it's a stupid question, but i really confused.  :robotsad:   i am going to buy a inspiron 600m, and for the optical selection, what does '8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+/-RW) with double-layer write capability' mean?  does it mean the DVD and CD drives both have the RW capability?  is it a combo drive?  and what is 'double-layer write capability'? It means it will read and write all CD and CDRW media. It will also
read and write DVD+R/RW and DVD-R/RW media. Also it will read commercial
(movie) DVDs. The dual-layer refers to writing to dual-layer DVD media
which doubles the amount of memory, however, dual layer media is still
expensive. In short, the drive does it all.
