About Hard DIsk Drive problems.

I have Dell Inspiron  one 2320 ALL IN ONE pc with i3 model and this pc has western digital hard disk 500gb.

from past 3 or 4 days my pc mainly hard disk is so slow .  earlier it takes only 10 to 15 seconds to shut down but now it takes 3 to 4 minutes to shut down and it is also using so much ram all the time.

and then I decided to run "pc doctor" provided by dell...

it passed all the other tests but cant passed hard disk test............

IT fails in the "Targeted Read Test" and all other tests wee skipped automatically .so thick this is the root of the problem

I have Windows 8PRO 64Bit Installed on pc,and harddisk model is    WDC WD5000AAKX-753CA1...

 

and when test failed it then it gives an error number is  "WHD20-BQl"  written in front of targeted read test....

Hi Ankur Gandhi,

The error code is indicative of the Hard Drive failure. It is requested to backup all the important information (data) in the Hard Drive and run Dell 32-bit Diagnostics. Click here to find steps on how to run Dell 32-bit Diagnostics. If the diagnostics returns any error code, please add the exact text of the error code in your reply.

as you told me run Dell 32-bit Diagnostics so i run it and given errors were listed below....

error code -        2000-0142

validation    27699

Msg:  Hard Drive  0-S/N   WD-WMAYUC068139

selftest unsuccessful 

status - 7................

and told me that if dell will replace my hard drive because my is is till under warranty??

and if hard disk is dead or failed what will happen to my genuine windows 8 PRO..will it be installed on other hard drive???

Yes, your hard drive is toast - and yes, if the system is under warranty, Dell will replace the drive.  The replacement will come pre-imaged with Windows.

hey i don't need further comunication because i have called to dell technical support and they had despached me a new hard drive so thanks for giving me time....
