Adding second SATA hard disk as a slave

Hello !

I'm having a problem over here. I just bought a second 120gb SATA hard disk and I just want to use it as a slave drive (for storage purpose). I installed it but my system doesn't recognizes it at all.  I have a brand new Workstation Precision 360, originally with one  120gb SATA hard drive and XP pro.

The second Hard disk is not recognized in BIOS either. Please , I would appreciate any help. Thank you very much.

Tom.

PS: Do I have to haver RAID to use 2 drives ? I think I should be able to just install it and use it as a slave as I did on many other computers before...

Did you adjust the BIOS? Assuming that the physical installation is correct, press F2 immediately after power on, arrow down the list to hard drive configuration and press enter. There you will see a "secondary SATA drive". Press enter, then press + to turn the drive to "auto". Esc, save changes and reboot.

I have the same problem and the drive now shows in the bios but it does not show up in windows.

How can I fix that problem.
