Anywhere else besides Newegg?

Hi,

Me again. So it's been almost 8 days now and the ETA for the PX-716A just keeps getting pushed back further and further. now the ETA is April 29. I really can't afford to wait too much longer. Does anyone know anywhere else online I can order this burner from that is 1)reliable, 2)has the burner at a fair price, and is 3)reliable??? (yes i know i said reliable twice.)

Seriously. Or maybe just give me a list of other burners I can order from Newegg that are compatible with my Dell Dimension 8200. hopefully one of them would be in stock. gees.

Thanks a million in advance.

pflower,

You can search on pricewatch.com for other vendors who may carry this particular burner.  Your Dimension 8200 is capable of using just about any burner.  Check the other models available on Newegg at this link:

pflower:

I ordered, had delivered and installed a Pioneer DVR-109BK from newegg in the span of one week.  That machine will work in your D8200 if it works in my D4400.

Here is my recent forum thread:http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=dim_cdrom&message.id=99070 .

Use the forum search function for "Pioneer 109" to obtain more info on the drive.  Forum regulars like the Plextor drive too, it just might be in short supply (the ship hasn't docked/unloaded yet.....?)

Good luck,:smileyhappy:

okay thanks guys. yeah I know B4runo, what could be the reason ETA taking so long-the boat is cruising at 2 miles an hour??? lol... weird, this is my only gripe so far with newegg. their ETAs are way off schedule.

anywho, I have decided that at this point I want to avoid anything going wrong once i finally do get a burner so that is why I have decided to just get an external one like I originally planned to do. After all, there is a good chance I will get a Mac or a laptop in the future so it would help to be able to link the burner to another computer. I don't care at this point-I just don't wanna have to finally get a burner again and that have to deal with the installation process. too tricky for me and too easy for something to go wrong *sigh*

That said, anyone have any good experiences with any good EXTERNAL DVD burners that are compatible with a Dell Dimension 8200??? please share. In fact, I may need a DVD burner that can burn CDs too cuz I don't know if I'll ever get my CD burner to work again.

(then again, i guess all external burners would be compatible because all you do is plug them into a usb port and you're good to go right)

thanks again!!! please share.
