BIOS errors with new hard drive.
My hard drive recently took a dive and died on me. So i replaced it with a seagate 120 gig hard drive. I installed it properly and all that.
When it comes to reinstalling Windows ME. It takes ALONG time. But it seems to work, up until it starts configuring plug and play devices. Then i get a lovely blue screen and a BIOS error.
It says either restart or press a key to continue. And after i do that installation messes up.
Although i can make it into windows after the error, but only in safe mode. and safe mode goes REALLY slow.
I have a Dell Demension 8100
1.4 gig processor
256 megs of ram
and what ever graphics card it came with. I've forgotten.
Any help would be appreciated. I got college papers to write.
And if you need any more information let me know.

How is the drive jumpered? Is the drive properly identified in the BIOS of the system?
