I would like to give you a quick tip on the forum. You posted a question having an issue with Burning Photos`s to CD-R, this creates a "thread" for this particular problem; Dave responded, you really need to stay in this same thread, use the Reply Button in Dave`s response. This keeps the issue in one place, more organized and easier to follow and keep up with. Starting a new thread on the smae issue makes it very difficult to keep track of, Dave working with you or others reading the posts have to bounce around, not good.
Best Regards!

Thanks again Dave & Jeff sorry about the new post, checked under CD-RW Drive (E:) properties only found tabs that say General, Auto play, Hardware, Sharing setting, Direct cd 5.0 option, none that say Recording ?
Aha....you didn't mention you had Roxio's DirectCD installed. When you insert a blank CD, does DirectCD pop up and ask you to format the CD? If it does, format the CD and then just use Windows Explorer to drag and drop the files to the CD. It's been ages since I used DirectCD (ver 5 no less) but I believe it disables Windows CD writing ability. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
As an aside, make sure you've downloaded and applied all the updates to Roxio Easy CD Creator. Also, if you're burning photos to CD to archive them I wouldn't reply on either Windows CD burning or DirectCD. Use Easy CD Creater instead and create a data disk and burn the photos to the CD that way. It's a lot more reliable.
WELL DAVE I OPENED UP ROXIO DIRECT CD USED THEIR DROP DOWN BOX TO BRING SHARED PHOTO FILES OVER FROM WINDOWS, PLACED THEM IN ADD FILE PROJECT HIT THE RECORD BUTTON EVERYTHING WORKED OUT JUST FINE. ONE NOTE I DIDN'T DOWNLOAD ANY UPDATES IF IT.S NOT BROKEN DONT FIX IT YET, AGAIN THANKS FOR YOUR HELP YOU GOT ME GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.
While you can use DirectCD to put photos on a disc, unless you are doing this for archive purposes, it will not be readable by others or on a DVD player. For that purpose, you'll need to disable DirectCD and burn the disc as a regular data disc.
In all honesty, I would urge you not to use DirectCD. There are too many posts to count about people who lost data because DirectCD could not be used on a newer computer.
Osprey, I do agree with you in what you say. I did do it under CD data project. I tried it out on my DVD & it did play ok with the exception of about 2 or 3 pictures which looked like negatives. Out of curiosity sake, I'm not sure how to disable Roxio. I would much rather be able to use Windows to burn CD's ... any suggestions? Thanks.
