Boot file missing or corrupt

Hi

I have DELL INSPIRON N5110 500 GB e-sata hard drive.Whilst doing a CHKDSK I had a power failure

which cancelled the check. Ever since i am getting a blue screen with the following info

A problem has been detected and windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen restart your computer.if this appears again follow these steps.

disable or uninstall any anti virus ,disk defragmentation or back up utilities, check your hard drive configuration and check for any updated drivers,RunCHKDSK/F to check for hard drive corruption

then restart your computer.

Technical info STOP 0x00000024

(0X0000000000190494,0XFFFFFA80043F4A30,0FFFFFFFFC0000102,0X0000000000000000

I then decide to use my back up disc which do load the files but i am receiving a message that says

File:\widows\system32\boot\winload.exe

Status0xC0000001

Info:The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt.

Can someone please help as all this has occurred since i run CHKDSK which was interrupted

because of a power failure and my computer went off while processing the CHKDSK.

Any help would be really appreciated. i just hope i dont need a new hard drive as  money is

tight at the moment.

You should run a full hard drive diagnostic - f12 at powerup - because a bad drive is very much a possibility.

Time to replace the drive.

On this model, replacing the drive is a challenging exercise:

Once the drive is out of the system, mount it into an external case - example below - and attach it to a working system to see what is still readable.
