That usually means your system does not have a DVD burner installed in it. Go to the Device Manager and find the Brand and Model of the drive(s) in your system and post it. We will look it up for you.
The SAMSUNG SD-616E DVD-ROM Drive is not a burning drive. It is a Read-only drive that will read CDs and DVDs, but it cannot write to them. Is there a second drive installed in your system?
You should phyically see two drives in your system and if there are two drives installed. It will also should in the Device Manager. If the drive you listed is the only drive installed, then you will have to purchase a DVD Burner if you want to burn DVDs.
Now we have the information to I.D. both drives. The SAMSUNG SD-616E DVD-ROM Drive is a previously stated and the SAMSUNG SW-252S CD-R/RW Drive is not a DVD burner. With the combination of both drives you can read CDs and DVDs, read CDRs and CDRWs, and write to CDRs and write/rewrite CDRWs. Neither drive is capable of burning DVDs.
Sonic RecordNow is standard burning software. Built-in to it is the capability of burning DVDs only if a DVD burner is installed in your system.
