CD Drive does not read CDs

I have a Samsung CD Drive (SC-148A).  Every time I try to put in a CD (such as a Microsoft Office Installation CD), it does not load.  Usually, I have to restart my computer with the CD in, so that it reads it when the computer starts up.  This problem did not occur when I first got my computer.  It started happening about two weeks ago.  Can anyone help?  Thanks.

There is a utility,Autofix, that microsoft puts out on their free download page. It's officially called the Microsoft Autoplay Repair Wizard. It's worked for me when a couple of drives went hinky on me.
