CD-ROM not recognized

Hello all,


My Dimension V350 does not detect cd/dvd-rom anymore.
It started happen more than a month ago.
Anyone know what the problem is?

I don't think it is a cd/dvd-rom player because I have replaced it with other, it behaves the same.
Also I have replaced the cable, it still does not detect.

Anyone know why?

My OS is Linux Slackware if it matters..
