CDs won't play on home stereo system!
ok i just go my computer about a month ago and i attempted to use my CD burner for the first time a few days ago. Everything works fine and it says the disc has been finalized...all that good stuff, but when i put it in my stereo it plays the first song, and about half of the second then starts skipping like i have a scratched CD. Eventually the song just stops playing altogether. If i try to skip to the next song the counter on the stereo shows 00:00 and nothing happens. I tried using different brands of CDs as well as different burning programs. I know both brands of CDs work in my stereo as I have used them before when burning from a different computer...what's wrong?!

Maybe try burning them at a slower speed. I've heard 8X max recommended for audio CD, and your new computer may just burn at it's maximum capability. (Whatever that is!)

Cool! Thanks for posting back with an update. Apparently, CDs burned at high-speed are just too hard for most audio CD players to read. You could experiment with your burn speeds somewhat and find a level you're comfortable with, in case your newer drive performs better in this regard. Inquiring minds will want to know.

well i set my write speed to 8x and it's working great...i used a brand of CD that usually won't play in my truck (well it plays sometimes but won't allow for searching through the tracks) and it works fine! it even let me skip through the songs! so i REALLY appreciate ur help...
