I have same problem, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling driver, it says the latest version of my driver is installed and it still doesn't work. I even tried the registry editor fix that was posted somewhere else. I don't know if these "Solutions" are compounding the issue or not.
Help would be appreciated.

Ive managed to fix it now, apologies for not posting up earlier. Took me a while of searching, but try using this windows fix it link, I found it on microsofts community forum: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/cd_dvd_drive_problems/en-us. Hope this works mate, let us know how it goes.
