Copying Files to CD
I have a Model 2400 Dimension with two CD drives. I am having trouble copying data files to either drive. First of all when I right click on either drive a drop down menu appears but does not contain a "Format" item. Could this be my trouble? That same drop down menu has an item "DLA" with a check mark by it.

Ron:
RW discs really only need to be formatted if you're using DLA. So if the system is asking for the discs to be formatted, it's using a packet writing mode.

First, it would be helpful to know what kind of drives you have. You have one CD-RW but what's the other drive?
My suggestion would be not to use DLA, which is packet writing program that can cause all sorts of incompatibility issues should you decide you need to read this disc in another computer. Instead, use the Windows XP CD burning wizard. Open Windows Explorer, select the file(s) you want to write to the disc, right click the selected files, hover over Send to, then select CD-RW (or DVD-RW) drive. Windows will copy the files to a temporary location and a little bubble will pop up telling you there are files waiting to be written to the CD. Click that and a box will pop up showing files on the disc and files waiting to be written to the disc. Click File, Write these files to CD.
