Create Overlay error - tried what it said in the FAQ. HELP

Ever since I installed my new hard drive on my insprion8200, I haven't been able to play any DVD's. When I run WinDVD, I get the Create Overlay error. I looked up in the FAQ post on this forum, I tried everything it said to do, I even tried other resolutions, and color depths. I tried setting my hard drive accelerations to full. I don't have microsoft net meeting. Nothing has worked. I can't find out the problem. Can someone help me please?

did you install the specific dell video drivers?
if you're using the windows generic drivers you'll also get that error.

click on the downloads tab at the top of this page & follow the trail for your model.
download the file to your hdd then double click it to run the install.

no problem.
seeing that you didn't install your video drivers after re-install, you do know that you should also install the dell specific drivers for your audio, touchpad & modem in order to get the best out of your system.
