The Code 39 error is related to the Upper & Lower Filters. I have two articles on this, one from Dell, the other from Microsoft. Please click on the CD/RW link in my post and scroll to Section 12, article 10; Section 100, article 31. Ignore the reference to Roxio. Both articles are the same, some say they find Dell`s easier to follow.

The suggested solution worked! I had previously uninstalled Roxio because I had been getting so many dire warnings about destabilizing my system and also the fact that Roxio refused to update their software. Jeff's response to my posting was swift, on point, and successful. Jeff, I love you, man!
