DVD-RW eject/ recognition problems

I have  a Dimension 4700. I cant eject DVD-RW door to insert a disc. Nothing lights up on tower, when I click on properties, everything says it is working properly such as the  philips DVD=RW DVD 8631 (location 1), maxtor 6Y080MO(location 0), and SAMSUNG DVD Rom SD 616E (loation 0).   When I try to eject DVD RW door from the properties pull down box, the program turns to non responsive and doesnt do anything. 

 I manually opened door with paperclip and I couldnt find any jams. After opening the door, It still did not light up or react and close on its own. It seems to be broken?  Any help or suggestions would be wonderful as I am clueless where to start with this. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!!!!! (my computer warranty expired this month;of course right before I found this and other odd problems....are our computers set to crash if we dont renew our warranties or something?lol)
