DVD drive does not recognize DVD protected with Macrovision
My dvd drive is a TS-L532B in an Inspiron E1705 with Media Center.
I purchased a DVD and on the backcover it states "Each DVD is copy guarded by Macrovision." I'm not trying to copy it though. I put the DVD disc in the drive and it isn't even recognized. It's as if a blank disc is in there. How can I resolve this issue so that I can watch my DVD? I think it is the Macrovision because I can watch other DVDs on my laptop.
Thanks in advance

Hi, jwolf:
The solution is to use a program that can circumvent CSS protection, a subject which we are not permitted to discuss in this forum. There's plenty of help elsewhere, however. Some diligent searching is all that's needed.

Maybe this stuff is just over my head, but I tried 2 programs that declared they could do the css circumvention but neither worked. I guess dell does not have a patch to fix an issue like this?
