Deleted Files - help please

Question

I deleted many many files AND emptied my Recyle Bin.  I have Windows XP - Home Version.  Can anyone tell me how to retrieve some of the files???  Sure appreciate any help anyone can give me.

You could check out these utilities, but I think that chances of recovering the files is just about nil, unless you use a data recovery company and this will be very expensive

If you think it was system files or something similar you could try doing a system restore to a point back before you deleted them.   'All programs - accessories - system tools - system restore.'

It wasn't system files.  It was documents.  Would system restore work for that?

If you ever made a backup of those files onto a disc, you could put them back on your computer...but perhaps you didn't do that or you wouldn't be here asking for help.  I'm sorry you did that!

From what I understand (which is very little!lol) as long as you do not write over the area that had the data on it originally, it can be restored. I don't know at what cost that would be, I would assume it wouldn't be cheap, I just heard this yesterday or the day before on the radio from Komando.com. You may want to check it or contact her.
