Dell Hybrid Drive not using SSD

mSATA SSD is used as cache drive to accelerate a conventional magnetic disk using Intel Rapid Start Technology (IRST). When using mSATA SSD with IRST setup, it is not available in device manager. Please share where exactly you checked the SSD activity. If possible please post a screenshot.

It appears that the SSD is not configured/ working in IRST mode. Please check the SATA operation in BIOS, if it is set to Intel Smart Response Technology. You may follow the steps below :

• Restart the computer and press F2 button when you see Dell logo
• Highlight Intel Rapid Start Technology and press Enter
• Ensure that iRST Support is Enabled
• Press ESC button to go back
• Highlight Advance option and ensure SATA Operation is set to ISRT
• Press F10 to save the system settings and restart the computer

After following the steps above, you may check the SSD association in Intel Rapid Storage Technology Manager. You may follow the steps below to verify the status of SSD and HDD association and reassociate them if needed :

The above steps are only applicable if you have mSATA SSD installed in your system and you have installed Windows OS with SATA Operation set to ISRT.

It appears that Windows 8 in your computer was installed in AHCI mode and now as you have changed the SATA Operation the OS is not loading. You may perform the following steps to be able to login to OS :

• Change the SATA Operation back to AHCI in BIOS
• Follow the steps listed in Microsoft article Here and restart the system
• Change the SATA Operation to ISRT and see if it helps.

Once you are able to successfully boot into the OS after changing the SATA Operation to ISRT, you may download/install Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver from Here. After installing the driver, you may follow the steps given in my previous post to accelerate HDD.

If the system is unable to boot after changing the SATA operation, you may consider re-installing Windows OS with SATA Operation set to ISRT and iRST enabled.

cause I install got apprear this message

(this computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software )

is mean not support  by hardware or any other problem?
