Device driver stuck in infinitr loop?

First time post and I'm lost at what this all means. Need new hard drive? Thanks for any help, appreciate!
--------------------------------------------------------------

Dell Dimension 4600, windows xp sp3. 60G with 35 free space

When I turned on computer this screen shows up:

problem with File:nv4_disp

device driver got stuck in an infinite loop

Usually indicates problem with device itself or with device driver programming the hardware incorrectly

Check with device vender for driver update

Techical information:
0x000000ea (0x8a4zcda8,0x8a4c5f60,0xf78c2cb4,0x00000001) nv4_disp

Boot into Safe Mode and uninstall the Nvidia software in the add/remove programs.

Nvidia is your video card on the system.  The drivers that were corrupt are what is used to get you to view your items correctly on the screen in the right resolution.
