Dimension 3000 Booting Problem

I have a Dimension 3000 with BIOS ver. A02. Installed a second HD and used a MasterBooter program to boot between Windows 98 2nd edition and Windows XP. Everything works great for over two years. Yesterday I removed the HD with Windows 98 and tried to uninstall the MasterBooter program. Now when I turn it on I get the following BIOS message on startup.   ' Primary drive 1 not found. Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility. '   Ran the setup utility several times and no joy. But I can hit F1 and the computer will continue to boot up and run Windows XP.   Question . How do I get rid of this error message and get the computer to boot directly to Windows XP.

Boot your XP CD, drop to a recovery console, and type fixboot then fixmbr and reboot.

ejn63 Thanks for the help but, no joy. Re-installed the old HD with windows 98 and it works like a charm. Somehow this computer will not let me remove the second HD without that error message. I give up. But thanks again for your help. Vernon
