Tried it, doesnt work. i've also tried a virus scan, doesnt work either. ive also tried to switch the IDE-cables in my desktop. ive also tried reinserting the jumpers. ive tried everything that i can think off and still it isnt working! it might help if i tell you that every time i boot xp is attempting to reinstall all my harddrives(including the generic ones) and that everyone goes ok untill the IDE-channels.. dunno .. it might help
Sounds like reinstall time to me! If you have data on one drive and the OS on another, remove your data drive, reinstall XP and then after everything is working, replace your data drive.
ALL DRIVES should be jumpered to CS, with the master at the cable end and slave in the middle.
