Dimensions of Optical Drive

Question

Well I found a optical drive that will do for my dell except one thing. Before I order it I want to make sure the dimensions of the origional drive are the same as the one I want to put in. The dimensions of the new optical drive are 145(W) x 41.3(H) x 170 (D)  mm... is that the same as the origional? will it fit? If I put my own dvd software on the system will it playback fairly smoothly? Cyberlink Power DVD Latest Specs Dimension 2400 P4 2.66 533 MHz BUS, Integrated Graphics, Integrated Sound, XP HOME, 512 DDR, 40 GB HD... Should be fast enough to run a cdrw dvd combo drive fast enough to play dvds and burn fairly well. I have the latest roxio also. I'm not sure if the new dells support the format ATAPI / E-IDE. <-- any warnings on that will greatly be appriciated. Also are there any compatability problems that you all know of? Thanks

Your hyperlink was entered wrong and I can't click on it to check the drive.  But, any standard IDE CD or DVD internal drive should fit in your system.  Your PC has a standard size CD mounting slot.
