Disable OnBoard SATA controller

I have a Precision 670 with an onboard SATA controller.  I've got a RAID 1 array defined in it but I don't want to boot from that array.  Is there a way to disable the controller so it doesn't try to boot from the SATA RAID array but still use the array on which to store data?
TIA
Ernie

Possibly, in the Boot Sequence in the bios. Are you trying to boot from a different drive? More info please.

Yes, I'm trying to boot off of a SCSI controller.

Some Dell bios's allow you to set a device as bootable or not by using the space bar, I not familiar with yours unfortunately.
