Error Code 0F00:1244

Question

My computer blue screened and then would not restart and keeps getting hung up at the windows loadup bar, I ran the diagnostics and came up with Error Code 0F00:1344, MSG Block 100936: Uncorrectable data error or media is write protected. I'm guessing this means the hard drive is real bad. Its that a fair assumption? Any ideas on how to go about trying to fix this? Thank you Matt
