It depends on the model and size of hard drive - they run as little as about $70 or as much as a couple of hundred dollars.
You have absolutely no way of knowing when a hard drive will fail, so the only guarantee is called a backup. That said, most notebook drive makers offer at least a 3-year warranty on their drives -- and Seagate offers five - so even if it fails, you won't have any out of pocket replacement costs.
If your laptop is still within warranty and then you should contact Dell. If it is not then I suggest you get your hard drive from somewhere like
http://www.zipzoomfly.com where the cost of the hard drive would be cheaper than the equivalent model from Dell parts department.
I am also getting a diagnostic code of 0F00-1A44. From everything I have read here it is a slam dunk that a HDD change is required. The new question that I have not seen asked is: Can the existing drive be salvaged by reformatting it?
