Hi Shortfuse59,

I was under the impression that Speedfan monitors temperature.

Do you maintain back-ups of your important files?

Speedfan also analyzes smart attribute data and yes I maintain back-ups.  I still need some opinions on my original post.

Gsense error rate is the count of errors resulting from externally-induced shock & vibration.

The lower the Gsense error rate the better.

Well the raw value for speed fan would increase as the temp of the HDD increases. So my guess would be the more you keep your laptop swithced on the more the raw value of the speed fan.

Why would the temperature of the hdd cause the gsense error rate raw value to increase.

It would be the speed fan, gsense rate isnt related to temp of the HDD.
