HD Error Codes
Does anyone know where a list of the error codes are? When I run the HD diagnostic(CTL-ALT-D), it returns "FAIL 1G" for the 40G HD in my Inspiron 8200 , but I have no clue what this error is or if it is even fixable. No errors show up in the event logs.

Thank you for using Dell's Community Forum.
I am not privy to a list of those error codes, but I do know that if you are getting an error, then the drive needs to be replaced, or should soon.

I have some error codes here that might help but as far as I know
All HD errors means HD needs replacement...

Error Code 3 : Fatal Error
Error Code 4 : Unknown Previous Failure
Error Code 5 : Electrical Failure
Error Code 6 : Seek Failure
Error Code 7 : Previous Read Failure
Error Code 8 - 14 : Nonfunctional
