HD Error Codes

Question

Does anyone know where a list of the error codes are?  When I run the HD diagnostic(CTL-ALT-D), it returns 'FAIL 1G' for the 40G HD in my Inspiron 8200 , but I have no clue what this error is or if it is even fixable.  No errors show up in the event logs. Thanks! Richard

Thank you for using Dell's Community Forum.

I am not privy to a list of those error codes, but I do know that if you are getting an error, then the drive needs to be replaced, or should soon.

I have some error codes here that might help but as far as I know All HD errors means HD needs replacement...
