HDD password reset

Hi,

I have a Latitude D630, I need a password to reset the HDD, I have service code, I know the bios password  and I know who is the previous owner. Can any body help me .

There are two parts to the issue:

If you can verify ownership, Dell can unlock the system and remove the CMOS portion of the password.  This will require a voice phone call to Dell support.  Have the details and a credit card handy - the call will cost a standard support-call fee.

This will not, however, remove the password from the hard drive itself.  The cheapest solution once the CMOS portion of the password is removed is to replace the drive.  If you need the data on the drive, you will need to send it off to a data recovery service to have the password removed.  It's stored in a user-inaccessible portion of the drive that only a specialist with the proper tools can remove.
