HL-DG-ST DVD+-RW GT60N DVD / CD ROM ISSUE!!!

Just
got My laptop Yesterday March 14th, Inspiron 17R N7110. Went to go use the
CD/DVD ROM...it makes a little bit of noise, then NOTHING. Went to device manager
and it shows an exclamation mark next to the driver... try to update driver,
and it says it's up to date. Any ideas? Maybe a bunk CD ROM?? Any info would be
appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Michelle

There are no 3rd party drivers for CD and DVD drives, just the default built in Microsoft (Windows) drivers.

Go to the Device Manager, RIGHT click on the entry for the drive to highlight it then LEFT click "Uninstall".  Restart the PC and when Windows starts it will detect and reinstall the drive.  If this does not fix it, since this is a new PC, contact Dell support.  Only Dell support can get it corrected under warranty.  We are only users helping users on this forum.
