What error if any are you getting?

Try this:

1. Run Command Prompt as an Administrator.

2. Type the following and hit enter: 

reg.exe add "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Controller0" /f /v EnumDevice1 /t REG_DWORD /d 0x00000001

3. Reboot the system

There is no driver to update. Please follow the instructions I gave above.

Nothing happened.

Do you still see code 19 in device manager for your DVD drive?

Still am see this code 19 in device manager. For my HL-DT-ST DVD+-RW GT32N in windows 8.1
