Hyper-Threading is an Intel processor-based technology that can help enhance computer performance by allowing one physical processor to function as two logical, or simulated processors. Two logical processors create the capability for a computer to execute two separate code streams (called threads) concurrently.

To check if Hyper-Threading technology is available in your computer, go to 'Device Manager' - 'Processors'. Check if there are two processors listed there.

To enable/disable Hyper-Threading in the BIOS, Performance > Hyper-threading - ON or OFF

Hyper-threading technology is available on the following Dimension systems -

XPS Gen 5 - Murray
Dim 5000 - Agent Carlin
XPD Gen 3/Gen 4 - Miller
Dim 8400/8400 MLK - Seinfeld
Dim 4700 - Carlin
Dim 4700C - Rickles
Dim 3000 - Wilson Lite (only on P4)
Dim 2400 - Bluford 3 (only on P4 - 3GHz and up)
